Casino bonuses at Canadian online casinos.

Every serious Canadian casino runs a welcome offer. This page compares them, explains the wagering requirements, and flags the terms that most bettors miss until it is too late.

How casino bonuses actually work

A casino welcome bonus is almost always structured as a deposit match with a wagering requirement. If the offer is "100% up to $500", the casino matches your first deposit dollar-for-dollar up to a $500 bonus. If the wagering requirement is 30x, you must wager 30 times the bonus (or bonus + deposit, read the fine print) before you can withdraw.

Ontario is different

AGCO advertising rules prohibit publicly advertising specific bonuses. Ontario books do have welcome offers, but you will only see them once you have logged into your account. The bonus is real; the advertising is different.

Wagering requirements to look for

  • Under 20x is generous. This is rare.
  • 20x to 35x is standard for the market.
  • 35x to 50x is punitive. Extract only if the base offer is very large.
  • Over 50x is not a real offer. Skip.

Game weighting

Most casino bonuses weight slots at 100% and table games at 10% or lower. This means playing $100 of slots progresses the wagering requirement by $100, but playing $100 of blackjack progresses it by $10 or less. If the casino discloses game weighting only in a linked PDF, that tells you something.

Cash-out limits

Some bonuses cap the maximum you can withdraw from bonus winnings, typically at 5x or 10x the bonus amount. This is buried in the terms and matters more than the headline offer.

Common bonus types

  • Deposit match: The standard 100% up to $X format.
  • Free spins: Usually 20 to 100 spins on a designated slot, often with their own wagering.
  • No-deposit bonus: A small ($10 to $25) balance for signing up. Wagering is punitive.
  • Cashback: A percentage of net losses returned as cash or bonus. The best casinos offer this at 10 to 20% weekly.
